History of Servizi Assicurativi del Commercio Estero

SACE was established in 1977, in 1998 it was transformed to “Institute for Insurance Services of Foreign Trade” in 2004 SACE entered a short-term credit insurance market with the establishment of SACE BT. In 2004 SACE is incorporated into a joint-stock company, 100% controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In 2005,SACE BT acquires 70% of Assedile from SMABTP, a French insurance company. In 2008 SACE Surety , a new name attributed to the former Assedile, merged into SACE BT. In 2012 SACE and its subsidiaries are acquired by Cassa depositi e prestiti. 2016, SACE and SIMEST are the pole for export and internationalization with the One-door initiative
