EXIMBANKA SR was established by Act No. 80/1997 Coll. o Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic, which entered into force on July 1, 1997. The Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic as a legal entity was registered in the Commercial Register of the District Court Bratislava I on 22 July 1997 and uses the abbreviated name of the trade name EXIMBANKA SR. They are based in Bratislava and as a specialized financial institution combines banking and insurance activities to support export.

EXIMBANKA SR is responsible for its activities, its clients, its employees and the environment in which it operates. It respects and takes into account the needs of all its partners. These are not only clients themselves, but also suppliers, chambers of commerce, federations, ministries, various financial institutions and, last but not least, its employees. EXIMBANKA SR carries out its activities transparently and follows ethical principles. In its activities, it promotes a responsible approach to sustainable development and takes into account the impact of export activities on the environment, human rights and social justice.
