London, United Kingdom. In a bid to continue to promote and expand access to finance for small and medium sized businesses, TFG is delighted to announce an exciting industry partnership with the SME Finance Forum, an International Finance Corporation (IFC) managed project.
SMEs are an engine for economic growth, accounting for 9 out of 10 businesses, half of GDP and two-thirds of jobs worldwide. Yet the SME finance gap is still estimated to be $5.2 trillion (unmet SME financing need per year). In this context, the Forum’s mission is to bring together banks and financial institutions, development finance institutions, multilateral and technology partners to share knowledge, innovate and promote the growth of SMEs.
The SME Finance Forum was established by the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) in 2012 as a knowledge center for data, research and best practice in promoting SME finance. The SME Finance Forum works to expand access to finance for small and medium businesses. The Forum operates a global membership network that brings together financial institutions, technology companies, and development finance institutions to share knowledge, spur innovation, and promote the growth of SMEs.
