Due to increased sales, a soft commodity trader required a receivables purchase facility for one of their large customers - purchased from Africa and sold to the US.
Purchasing commodities from Africa, the US, and Europe and selling to Europe, a metals trader required a receivables finance facility for a book of their receivables/customers.
An energy group, selling mainly into Europe, desired a receivables purchase facility to discount names, where they had increased sales and concentration.
Rather than waiting 90 days until payment was made, the company wanted to pay suppliers on the day that the title to goods transferred to them, meaning it could expand its range of suppliers and receive supplier discounts.
Global Head of Trade and Commodity Finance, Rabobank
Christine recently joined Rabobank as the Global Head of Trade and Commodity Finance. Her focus, and that of her team, is providing trade and commodity finance solutions for commodity marketing companies around the world. Rabobank, one of the largest and best rated financial institutions in the world, is a leader in the Commodity Finance space.
Christine has twenty seven years of banking experience, twenty of which have been in the Commodity Finance domain. Prior to joining Rabobank, Christine spent fifteen years at BNP, initially as a Relationship Manager in BNP’s North American commodity finance platform, growing to lead a team and ultimately the Commodity Structured Debt product group. In 2020, the Asset Based Lending team was brought under Christine’s purview as well. Prior to BNP, Christine was a relationship manager at another leading commodity finance bank and, before entering the commodity finance world, her banking experience encompassed Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Finance Advisory. Her pre-banking career included stints at the Delegation of the European Commission (Trade Division) and a Washington DC think tank.
Christine holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and is a CFA charterholder. She is based out of New York.
