This article posits that human rights due diligence is the most practical approach to addressing climate change concerns and achieving other sustainable development goals.
Akinkunmi is a final year student of Law of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He is passionate about human rights, development and international trade. He believes that a human rights approach is one of the most effective means of achieving economic development.
He is currently the Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Law Student Society, OAU and the Vice President of the Mooting Society. He has represented his university in several advocacy competitions. In 2019, he represented his university in the African regional rounds of the John H. Jackson Moot on WTO laws and he has won 4 national legal advocacy competitions in Nigeria.
He is also passionate about poverty alleviation in Nigeria and seeks to explore international trade, finance and technology as tools in this regard. It is in this wise that he acts as the student legal adviser of some students-led NGOs and technology platforms that are still in their earliest stages.
